This Privacy Policy explains how Gold Detectors Zambia ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you use golddetectors.co.zm, contact us by phone or WhatsApp, or place an order. By using this website you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
- Information you give us: name, email address, phone number, delivery address and any details you include in an enquiry, order or newsletter signup.
- Order information: the products you buy, order value and currency, and the delivery method you select.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and pages viewed, collected automatically by our web server.
- Stored preferences: your chosen currency, language, cart, wishlist and compare list are kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. We do not receive a copy.
2. How we use your information
- To process, confirm, ship and support your order.
- To respond to enquiries sent by form, email, phone or WhatsApp.
- To handle warranty claims, repairs and returns.
- To send newsletters and offers, where you have asked to receive them.
- To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet legal or tax obligations.
3. Payment information
We do not collect or store card numbers. Card payments are processed by Stripe, and PayPal payments by PayPal. Your card details are sent directly to those providers and are governed by their own privacy policies. Bank transfer, Western Union and cash-on-delivery orders are handled by our sales team and stored only as order records.
4. Sharing your information
We share personal data only with parties who need it to fulfil your order:
- Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal).
- Shipping, courier and customs-clearance partners.
- Manufacturers or authorised service centres, where a warranty claim requires it.
- Government authorities, where required by Zambian law.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing.
5. International transfers
Our sales, support and logistics operations are handled from more than one country. Your order and contact details may therefore be processed outside Zambia. We take reasonable steps to ensure the same level of protection wherever the data is handled.
6. How long we keep data
Order and invoice records are kept for as long as required for warranty, accounting and tax purposes. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for up to 24 months. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
7. Cookies and local storage
This site uses browser local storage for cart, wishlist, currency and language preferences. These are functional and are not used for advertising. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings; doing so will empty your cart and reset your preferences.
8. Your rights
You may ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it where we are not required to keep it, or stop sending you marketing. To make a request, email support@golddetectors.co.zm. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Security
This site is served over HTTPS. We apply access controls to order records and limit staff access to what is needed to do their job. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
This site is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top will always show the current version.
